An attorney was disbarred in New York after being convicted for embezzling about $500,000 in investor funds meant for the launch of a fantasy football lottery game, a state appeals court ruled.
Timothy Cobb pleaded guilty in federal court in Georgia in 2019 to wire fraud and filing a fraudulent tax return. He was accused of soliciting investors to create a fantasy football lottery game with several state lotteries, and then using the funds to pay for travel to Barbados and other personal expenditures.
