N.Y. Health System Still Faces Whistleblower’s Fraud Allegations

Catholic Health System of Long Island Inc. and others continue to face a whistleblower’s False Claims Act lawsuit alleging the misuse of federal funds intended to help nursing home residents, a federal court in New York said.

Michael Quartararo, a licensed nursing home administrator, adequately alleged that the defendants improperly spent Medicaid funds on other expenses, Judge Margo K. Brodie of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of New York ruled Monday.
