Muslim Students Sue Virginia School Over Discipline for Video

Four Muslim students sued a northern Virginia high school and a school district board for suspending them over a comedy video for an extracurricular group while ignoring similar videos by other student groups.

The pseudonymous plaintiffs, members of the Muslim Student Association at Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology, sued the school and Fairfax County Public Schools, claiming violations of Title VI and of their First and Fourteenth Amendment rights in a lawsuit filed Thursday in the US District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia.
