Muscle Milk $12 Million False Ad Settlement Gets Final Approval

A $12 million settlement in a certified class suit alleging Cytosport Inc. deceptively marketed Muscle Milk shake and protein powder products got final approval from a California federal court.

Class counsel’s $3.9 million fee request also won approval Thursday from Judge M. James Lorenz of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of California.

Chayla Clay and others alleged the company overstated the protein content of Muscle Milk shakes and understated the fat content on powder products by using the word “lean” on their labels.
