A $7.8 million settlement of a suit alleging Mulvadi Corp. deceived consumers about the origins of its coffee got a federal judge’s first nod, adding to the list of approved agreements in long-running litigation by Hawaiian coffee farmers.
Mulvadi’s insurer agreed to the payment, which is beyond the limits of the company’s insurance policy, after the coffee company declared bankruptcy.
