Mount Sinai Hospital Settles Before Front-Pay, Retaliation Trial

Mount Sinai Hospital agreed to settle a lawsuit brought by a former employee, avoiding a jury trial to decide whether the hospital owes him for future lost wages.

Judge Jennifer L. Rochon of the US District Court for the Southern District of New York on Thursday dismissed the case brought by former marketing director William Applegate who said he was fired for complaining about his supervisor’s misuse of funds and falsification of business records. Applegate sought back pay, front-pay, and compensation for lost benefits.

Rochon said all claims have been “settled in principle.”
