Mondelez Gets ‘Stoned Wheat Thins’ False-Ad Suit Tossed, for Now

Mondelez Global LLC shook off a suit alleging it fooled consumers into thinking “Stoned Wheat Thins” are made of stone-ground whole wheat, after a federal court in New York said the label doesn’t literally say so and reasonable consumers wouldn’t make that inference.

William Randolph alleged that the deceptive branding leads consumers to pay a premium price for snack crackers with less-nutritious unbleached enriched white flour milled on steel rollers as the predominant ingredient.
