Mohawk Industries Inc. agreed to pay nearly $2 million to resolve claims that it “engaged in a pattern and practice of wage abuse” against workers in California, according to an order preliminarily approving the deal.
The Wednesday order defines the conditionally approved class as hourly, non-exempt California Mohawk employees who worked for the flooring company between 2016 and 2024. The $1.9 million gross fund represents 14% of the potential recovery of damages, according to the opinion issued by the US District Court for the Eastern District of California.
