Mizuho to Face Job Bias Suit by Director Who Had Tongue Cancer

A Mizuho Americas Services LLC executive can pursue discrimination claims alleging she was denied accommodation and fired following treatment for cancer, which included the partial removal of her tongue, a Manhattan federal judge ruled.

Alleged comments by co-defendant Cheryl Benoit “can be interpreted as significant” and as creating an inference of bias in support of Gabrielle Zam’s disability discrimination claims against Mizuho under the Americans with Disabilities Act and New York state and city law, Judge Jessica G.L.
