Missouri Clerk Appeals Immunity Denial in Teen’s Abortion Suit

A Missouri county clerk is trying to end a lawsuit alleging she violated a pregnant teenager’s 14th Amendment right to abortion by refusing to allow her to use the state’s parental consent judicial bypass procedure without first telling her parents.

Michelle Chapman told the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Missouri that she is appealing its denial of her motion for summary judgment to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit.
