Minute Maid ‘Healthy’ Juice Box Suit Advances Against Coca Cola

Coca Cola Co. got false-ad litigation narrowed over sugar in popular juice boxes, but a California consumer can still challenge the label “Enjoy Minute Maid Juice Boxes as Part of a Healthy Balanced Diet.”

Lead plaintiff Gary Reynolds filed a proposed class suit in the US District Court for the Northern District of California. He alleged that consumers think fruit juice is just as beneficial as fruit, but the sugar in juice poses a health risk because processing changes its structure and makes it just as unhealthy as added sugar.
