A group of Minnesotans who claim to have been racially profiled by immigration authorities decided to stop pursuing a lawsuit challenging the stops and arrests they experienced during Operation Metro Surge.”

Plaintiffs Mubashir Khalif Hussen, Mahamed Eydarus, and Javier Doe filed a notice of voluntary dismissal without prejudice Thursday to the US District Court for the District of Minnesota, noting that government defendants failed to provide an answer to their complaint or a summary judgment motion. They sued then-Homeland Security Department Secretary Kristi Noem in January, alleging the department made warrantless arrests without probable cause.
