Minnesota Targets Glock Inc. Over ‘Machine Gun’ Switch Device

Minnesota Attorney General Keith Ellison sued Glock Inc. on Thursday over its alleged failure to mitigate the rise of devices that illegally convert the company’s semi-automatic handguns into automatic weapons.

The state says Glock is liable for maintaining a public nuisance, aiding and abetting negligence, and is violating Minnesota consumer protection and false advertising laws, according to a complaint. Ellison wants Minnesota’s Fourth Judicial District to declare Glock’s liability and order it to modify the design of its semi-automatic handguns, preventing conversions with a “Glock switch.”
