Minnesota Nurse Collective Gets Final Nod for $575,000 Deal

A group of Minnesota nurses and Monarch Healthcare Management LLC were approved to pursue a $575,000 collective settlement under the Fair Labor Standards Act.

The overtime wage case, filed in the US District Court for the District of Minnesota, was dismissed with prejudice in a Monday order approving the parties’ settlement agreement. April Quay sued Monarch in 2021 for violating the FLSA and state wage law, claiming the health-care provider failed to compensate nurses for the meal breaks they regularly worked through.
