Minnesota Hit With DOJ Bias Suit Over State Hiring Program (1)

The federal government is suing Minnesota over a state hiring program that it says is inconsistent with the Trump administration’s anti-DEI policies.

The state’s hiring program violates Title VII by allegedly evaluating prospective employees based on their race and sex, the Justice Department said in a Wednesday complaint filed in the US District Court for the District of Minnesota.

The program, run by the Minnesota Management and Budget Agency, mandates that state agencies have hiring goals for women, people with disabilities, and people of color, the complaint says. A spokesperson for the Minnesota Attorney General’s Office declined to comment.
