Minnesota Gymnast to Ask Appeals Court to Revive Men’s Team

A University of Minnesota student athlete filed notice Wednesday that he will ask the Eighth Circuit to order that the school immediately reinstate its men’s gymnastics program, after a federal trial court denied his request for a preliminary injunction.

Evan Ng will ask the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit to overturn a March 1 ruling of the U.S. District Court for the District of Minnesota that he waited too long to seek a preliminary injunction and that such an order is inappropriate because he will likely lose his case anyway.
