Minnesota Gun Carry Age Restriction Struck Down on Appeal (1)

A Minnesota law barring 18-to-20 year-olds from publicly carrying guns is unconstitutional, the Eighth Circuit ruled Tuesday.

The decision clears the way for people in that age group to obtain permit-to-carry licenses for handguns in the state.

“Importantly, the Second Amendment’s plain text does not have an age limit,” Judge Duane Benton wrote for the US Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit.
