Midwestern Pet Foods’ $6.4 Million Class Settlement Finalized

Pet owners and Midwestern Pet Foods Inc. and Nunn Milling Co. secured final approval for a $6.38 million class settlement in litigation alleging the companies marketed contaminated food that sickened or killed animals.

The companies recalled Sportmix and other dog and cat food brands in 2020 and 2021 because of possible salmonella or high levels of mold-borne aflatoxin.
