Alpha Baking Co. is facing three federal lawsuits—two brought by employees—alleging that the bread maker’s insufficient data security practices have put them and others at risk of identity theft.
The employee complaints were filed Tuesday on behalf of a nationwide class of at least 21,463 customers and employees whose data was improperly accessed in a breach detected January 23. The suit, in the US District Court for the Northern District of Illinois, alleged that victims were notified of the breach around June 13.
