Michigan’s legal battle to shut down one of Enbridge Inc.‘s pipelines belongs in state court, federal appeals judges ruled Monday, saying that the energy giant waited too long to move the case.

Enbridge didn’t move the case to the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Michigan until more than two years after it was filed, far beyond the 30-day window required for most cases, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit said in reversing a trial judge’s decision to keep the case in federal court.
