Michigan Supreme Court Upholds Sex Assault Claim Time Limit (1)

Michigan’s top court on Wednesday ruled that state law doesn’t allow for victims of sexual abuse to revive claims once the statute of limitations passes.

The 2018 law that extended the statute of limitations for criminal sexual conduct doesn’t apply retroactively and can’t be applied to the 25-year-old claims brought against the Roman Catholic Diocese of Lansing and the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Baltimore, Justice Megan Cavanagh wrote for the majority.
