The County of Barry, which does business as Thornapple Manor, a long- and short-term care facility in Michigan, said in a federal lawsuit Wednesday it’s seeking a tax refund over $4.9 million from the government that’s related to employee retention credits.
Thornapple Manor said it’s entitled to a tax refund because IRS improperly denied the nursing home employee retention tax credits for the first three quarters of 2021, according to a complaint filed in the US District Court for the Western District of Michigan.
