Michigan Gun Licensing Scheme Hit With Constitutional Challenge

The National Rifle Association of America and several other firearm rights groups and advocates claim Michigan’s firearm licensing regime violates the Second Amendment.

The scheme is “functionally equivalent” to the discretionary licensing system struck down by the US Supreme Court in NY State Rifle & Pistol Association v. Bruen, the gun rights groups and members alleged in a complaint filed Sunday in the US District Court for the Western District of Michigan.
