The US Department of Justice failed to convince a federal judge to force Michigan to hand over an unredacted copy of its statewide voter registration list.
None of the federal statutes the DOJ asserts authority under require the state to disclose the records, Judge Hala Y. Jarbou of the US District Court for the Western District of Michigan said in a Tuesday opinion.
