MGM Resorts Hit With Class Action Over September Data Breach

MGM Resorts International failed to protect the personal information of current and past customers and members of its loyalty program that was exposed in a September data breach, a proposed federal class action said.

Michael Manson alleged MGM Resorts failed to encrypt or adequately protect sensitive information, warn class members about its inadequate security practices, secure its hardware against intrusions, or provide timely notice of the breach to affected people.

Information exposed in the breach included names, mailing addresses, telephone numbers, email addresses, dates of birth, driver’s license numbers, and passport numbers, according to a complaint filed Tuesday in the ...
