Meta Unlikely to Escape Hacked Facebook Account Class Action

A proposed class of Facebook users who allege Meta Platforms Inc. failed to prevent hackers from taking over and misusing their accounts are poised to advance most of their lawsuit against the social media giant.

Judge William Orrick of the US District Court for the Northern District of California at a hearing Wednesday said he would tentatively deny most of Meta’s motion to dismiss.
