Meta, Shutterstock Settle With Engineer Over Sex Bias Claims

Shutterstock Inc. and Meta Platforms Inc. have settled a lawsuit by an engineer who claimed she was underpaid by more than $2 million.

The deal would end Yael Elmatad’s allegations she was paid less than male colleagues who held similar positions at both companies in violation of the Fair Labor Standards Act and New York law. The parties must explain by Nov. 14 why the “settlement in principle” should be approved, said Judge Margaret M. Garnett of the US District Court for the Southern District of New York Wednesday.
