Meta, Google Fail to Shake Much of GoodRx User Privacy Complaint

Meta Platforms Inc., Google LLC, and another provider of online tracking failed to convince a federal court to dismiss the majority of a privacy suit where alleging they collected or intercepted GoodRx user data without consent.

GoodRx, which wasn’t party to the motion to dismiss, lets users find prescription drug discounts. But it used online trackers from Google, Meta, and Criteo Corp. despite a promise by then-CEO Doug Hirsch that it didn’t exploit people or gather data, the plaintiffs said in their suit filed in the US District Court for the Northern District of California.
