Mercyhurst University Data Breach Lawsuit Sent to State Court

Mercyhurst University dodged a proposed class action in federal court over a 2022 data breach affecting current and former students and employees, but will have to face the same claims in state court.

Blake Boje failed to show he suffered a concrete injury from the breach, a requirement for Article III standing, Judge Susan P. Baxter of the US District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania said Wednesday.
