Merck Beats Suit Tying Woman’s HPV Vaccine to Injuries, for Now

A woman saw her product liability claims against Merck & Co. over its Gardasil vaccine dismissed for now, after a federal court in Connecticut said she failed to state any viable claims tying the HPV vaccine to her health injuries.

Korrine Herlth, then age 15, received her first dose of the three-shot series in October 2013 and her second in December 2013.

Gardasil is given to protect against human papillomavirus, a viral infection that can be sexually transmitted and is believed to be associated with cervical and other cancers.
