Menendez Brothers Denied Retrial After Look at New Evidence

The Menendez brothers’ options for release in the near future were narrowed again, after a Los Angeles state judge denied their request for a new trial.

Two new pieces of evidence submitted in 2023 aren’t “particularly strong” and wouldn’t have resulted in a hung jury or the brothers being convicted of a lesser crime, California Superior Court, Los Angeles County Judge William C. Ryan wrote in a Monday decision.
