Medtronic Defeats Former Executive’s Age, Disability Bias Claims

Medtronic USA Inc. is free of allegations that it discriminated against a former senior director after a federal judge ruled the worker wasn’t an employee under state bias laws.

The ex-executive can’t bring claims for age and disability bias under Minnesota law because, although Medtronic is based in Minneapolis, she didn’t physically live or work within the state, the US District Court for the District of Minnesota said Monday, granting the company’s summary judgment request.
