Medicare IT Award Gets Court Backing After Post-Bid Protest

The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services acted reasonably when it awarded a task order for information technology support services to Leidos Inc., the Court of Federal Claims ruled Wednesday.

CMS, the largest purchaser of health insurance in the US, solicited IT support services for its National Data Warehouse, a central repository for aggregating information relating to the beneficiary experience with Medicare. CMS awarded the task order to Leidos, after which competing bidder Sparksoft Corp. filed a protest to block the order from proceeding.
