Mead Johnson Hit With Suit Alleging Heavy Metals in Enfamil (1)

Mead Johnson Nutrition Co. is facing a proposed consumer class action alleging it failed to disclose the presence of heavy metals in its Enfamil baby food.

The complaint, filed in the US District Court for the Northern District of Illinois, alleges the company “knowingly, recklessly, and/or intentionally” sold infant formulas “that contained detectable levels of arsenic, cadmium, or lead, all known to pose health risks to humans, and particularly to infants.”
