McDonald’s Faces Class Action Lawsuit Over E. Coli Outbreak (1)

McDonald’s faces a proposed class action from people who say they were sickened by the chain’s Quarter Pounder hamburger, according to a complaint filed Tuesday in federal court.

The new suit comes as McDonald’s seeks to contain the damage caused by an outbreak of E. coli linked to its hamburgers. McDonald’s is also facing a lawsuit in Illinois state court, related to a series of E. coli infections that sickened dozens and left one person dead. McDonald’s announced Monday it was restoring the Quarter Pounder to its menus after temporarily recalling the burger.
