McCarter & English Escapes Drug Patent Lien Malpractice Lawsuit

McCarter & English will not have to face malpractice claims from a former client who says the law firm tanked their business by putting liens on their patents, the New Jersey Superior Court Appellate Division ruled Tuesday.

The firm put liens on the intellectual property of lung disease drugmaker Moerae Matrix when the struggling company refused to pay more than $800,000 in legal bills.
