Mazda Sheds Some Claims in Display Defect Proposed Class Action

Mazda Motor of America Inc. convinced a federal judge to cut nationwide claims in a proposed class action alleging the company didn’t disclose that its display systems have a safety defect that fails to show that the vehicle is in ignition-on mode.

The US District Court for the Central District of California on Wednesday dismissed the plaintiffs’ fraud and unjust enrichment claims because they didn’t specify which state laws allegedly were violated. The claims were dismissed without prejudice, however, allowing the plaintiffs to file again.
