Mastercard to Pay $26 Million in Underpayment Class Action (1)

Mastercard Inc. will pay $26 million to settle a proposed class action alleging that the company underpaid female, Black, and Hispanic employees, according to a Tuesday court filing.

The settlement provides that Mastercard will continue to conduct annual pay equity audits with an external consulting firm for three years, and will hire an industrial organizational psychologist to review its career ecosystem, the plaintiffs’ law firm, Outten & Golden LLP, said in a settlement memorandum filed in the US District Court for the Southern District of New York
