Massachusetts Sheds ‘Deficient’ DOJ Voter List Demand Suit (1)

Massachusetts’ top election official doesn’t have to fulfill the Justice Department’s “deficient” request for the state’s full voter registration database, a federal judge said Thursday.

In dismissing the suit, District Judge Leo T. Sorokin said the Trump administration’s July 2025 demand for the state’s full, unredacted voter registration list didn’t set out the basis for the request as required by the Title III of the Civil Rights Act of 1960.
