Massachusetts Ordered to Provide Voter File to GOP Nonprofit

Massachusetts’ top election official must hand the state’s voter file over to a conservative-backed nonprofit that publishes the personal records online, a Boston federal judge said.

Secretary of the Commonwealth William Galvin had denied a Voter Reference Foundation’s request for a copy of the state’s voter database, which contains names, addresses and effective dates of registration for millions of voters, despite a federal law requiring the records be made “available for public inspection.”
