Massachusetts’ Deal to Delete Covid-19 Tracking Data Approved

Massachusetts’ agreement to delete data used to track the spread of the Covid-19 pandemic received preliminary approval from a federal court after initially being turned away.

The settlement was provisionally approved as fair and reasonable Wednesday in the US District Court for the District of Massachusetts. Previously, Judge Mark G. Mastroianni said people in Western Massachusetts needed notice of the class settlement in a publication with a wider reach than the Berkshire Eagle, which had less than 50,000 readers.
