Married Couple Sentenced to Prison for Conspiracy, Wire Fraud

A married couple has been sentenced to prison after being found guilty of conspiracy, mail fraud, wire fraud, and health care fraud in Toledo, Ohio, according to the Justice Department Thursday.

Oliver Jenkins—an ear, nose, and throat doctor—and his wife, Sherry-Ann Jenkins—who had a Ph.D. but was not a licensed medical professional—opened a medicine practice in Ohio.

The couple represented that Oliver would diagnose and treat patients with cognitive disorders, said the agency. However, Sherry-Ann diagnosed patients and suggested treatment plans while Oliver never saw or treated patients at the practice.
