A case that could alter Michigan leave and minimum wage policies—as well as rewrite a key tool in legislative statecraft—is headed to the Michigan Supreme Court.
The justices accepted a case Wednesday that could spike the state’s minimum wage, eliminate the tipped wage, and boost mandatory paid leave requirements for businesses if the high court agrees the legislature unconstitutionally stripped power from voters through the state’s “adopt-and-amend” process.
