Management Association Gets First Nod for Data Breach Settlement

MRA—The Management Association Inc.'s agreement to pay $775,000 to settle a data breach class action filed by an employee of one of the nonprofit’s clients has received a federal judge’s preliminary approval.

The settlement would give the roughly 36,000 class members whose personal information was compromised a pro rata cash benefit unless they opt out, and MRA has since made improvements to its cybersecurity program, according to the plaintiff’s memorandum supporting the motion for preliminary approval filed to the US District Court for the Eastern District of Wisconsin.
