California Baptist University violated Title IX by eliminating its wrestling team, among other sports, according to a new lawsuit from three wrestlers at the university.
The university’s changes to its athletic program to bring greater proportionality between its men’s and women’s sports by cutting an all-male program violates Title IX’s limits on “preferential or disparate treatment,” the wrestlers said in their complaint.
