Major League Soccer has settled claims by a Black former media executive who alleges she was fired in retaliation for speaking out against racism and discrimination in the league offices.
MLS and ex-employee Karine Travieso notified the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York of the settlement Thursday and the court dismissed the suit the same day.
“The parties reached an agreement in principle and it will be confidential,” counsel for Travieso, David R. Ehrlich with Stagg Wabnik Law Group LLP in Garden City, N.Y., told Bloomberg Law.
