Maine School Board Beats Commenter’s Injunction Request Again

A Maine man failed a second time to convince a federal court to enjoin a local school board from enforcing its policies that would prevent him from targeting specific teachers by name in his comments at future public board meetings.

Shawn McBreairty, who has been repeatedly removed from Regional School Unit 22 meetings in Hampden, Maine, for naming teachers while criticizing their handling of LGBTQ+ and gender identity concepts in schools, alleged the school board violated the First Amendment and the Maine Constitution.
