The Maine House of Representatives retaliated against Rep. Laurel Libby (R) for her criticism of the state’s policy for transgender students in athletics and wrongfully stripped her of her right to vote in the chamber, Libby alleges in a lawsuit.
The House “took swift retaliatory action” by passing a resolution to censure her, calling her posts “reprehensible,” and trying to mandate that she publicly apologize, according to a complaint filed in the US District Court for the District of Maine.
