A former top utility lobbyist was sentenced Thursday to two years on charges related to a scheme to illegally influence his longtime friend, ex-Illinois House Speaker Michael Madigan (D).
Michael McClain’s relationship with Madigan goes back decades, and McClain, 77, was found guilty of being a key player in the “ComEd Four” conspiracy to pay the speaker’s allies through sham subcontracts.
