A Chicago federal judge on Monday granted a request to throw out the remaining charges against Michael McClain, a former Illinois lobbyist whose corruption trial alongside his longtime friend, ex-state House Speaker Michael Madigan (D), ended in convictions for Madigan but a mistrial on all counts for McClain.
Jurors deadlocked on all counts against McClain in February, and prosecutors last week moved to dismiss those charges.
